The Klinik Bad Windsheim is a hospital open 24 hours a day on every day of the year. Internal diseases of any kind can be treated here on a high level.

Patients who are admitted for hip and knee replacement surgery are mostly senior citizens and besides their orthopaedic problems they normally have additional diseases which must be considered and addressed. The Klinik Bad Windsheim has the great advantage to have a high-performance department of internal medicine within its walls, which can encounter any kind of internal diseases. Focuses are on gastroenterology and the treatment of diabetes mellitus.

If during the stay in the hospital there were any kind of complications, these could be treated without problems in our clinic. This reduces the need to transfer patients to another hospital which can occur frequently in other orthopaedic clinics.

On the existing intensive care unit every kind of cardiopulmonary problems (for example angina pectoris, lung embolism, asthma, COPD) could be treated. In the case of an acute myocardial infarction the cardiological laboratory of our neighbour clinic in Neustadt/Aisch has the facility to place heart catheters and open blocked vessels round the clock. The ongoing therapy will then take place again in our hospital.

Endoscopic procedures like bronchoscopies, gastroscopies, coloscopies and ERCP can be performed at any time. To diagnose deep vein thromboses there is a coloured duplex-sonography and a digital radiological phlebography.

Within our hospital there is also the practise of the radiologist Dr. E. Fellner, who operates a modern CT-Scan, which is available round the clock.

Furthermore there is a close cooperation with a local centre of dialysis which provides specialist treatment for patient suffering from kidney diseases. Hemo- and peritoneal dialysis can be done in our hospital.
